Europe here I come!

Four weeks, six countries, one Ryanair hand baggage (à 10 kg), visiting lots of friends and exploring some cities all by myself!  Tübingen – Koblenz – Frankfurt Hahn – Nokia – Helsinki  – Mainz/Wiesbaden – Malaga – Barbate – Seville – Zaragoza – Madrid – Lisbon – Dublin – London – Southampton – Portsmouth – London – Stuttgart – Tübingen. Okay I feel a bit bad for flying so much and thus leaving a huge carbon foot print and melting the Arctic ice and destroying the world... But I promise to behave very green again, once I get back home!

As you've probably noticed, I’ll try to blog in English for a change due to some demands from non-Finnish speakers interested in my adventure. It’s been a while since I’ve last written anything in English, so please forgive me if the text happens to bare some resemblance to Finglish, Denglish, Swenglish or any other weird mix…

So far I’ve travelled by train from Tübingen to Frankfurt Hahn and flown with Ryanair to Finland and back. Ironically my one-way train ticket Tübingen-Hahn cost as much as the return flight ticket Hahn-Tampere-Hahn (both 44 €). My boyfriend had no clue I was coming to Finland, so I managed to surprise him by suddenly appearing at his doorstep on Valentine’s Day. I so love surprises! After that great weekend with him in Helsinki I relaxed a couple of days with my family in Nokia before coming back to Germany for one night.

I’d never been to Rheinland-Pfalz before and I was amazed to see how beautiful the nature’s there! It’s the “wine capital area” of Germany with huge rivers and mountains, vineyards and small castles up on the hills. I’d love to make a biking trip there in the summer!

Before continuing my trip to Spain I stayed overnight in Wiesbaden at a local friend couple’s place. With them as guides I got a brief sight-seeing tour around Wiesbaden (an old wellness bath city famous for its hot springs, theater and casino) and its by Rhine separated neighbor city Mainz (ancient Roman ruins, huge catholic dome, home town of Johannes Gutenberg, huge university and delicious ice cream cafés).
Next episode: Malaga, Spain!

Budget so far:
Flights: 44 €
Other transport: 100 €
Accommodation: 0 €
Food: 7 €
Others: 5 €
------
= 156 €
